Numerical Study of Unsteady Pressure Fluctuation at Impeller Outlet of a Centrifugal Pump

Intense fluid-dynamic interaction at the impeller outlet strongly affects unsteady flow and pressure stability within centrifugal pump. In order to have a better understanding of fluctuation pumps, numerical calculation is carried out by using RNG k-epsilon turbulence model under various rates. The results are compared with experimental in verify reliability model. amplitude frequency distribution obtained analyzed time domain. research show that blade passing dominant fluctuation. And periodic As rate decreases, periodicity decreases. Besides, intensity closely related spatial location. At low rate, domain enlarged greatly, especially near tongue region. difference on both sides surface extremely uneven, changes significantly.
